One of our armoured military vehicles was hit and destroyed almost entirely and all of its brave occupants were killed on the spot. The tank however remained on the edge of the cliff hanging there only a millimeter away from tumbling down the sharp rocks. This dear readers is the story of the legendary tank in Lapta which is frequently visited both by foreigners and locals. There is a legend about a tank driving up to the peak of the Five Finger Mountains during the 1974 Peace Operation and breaking down. Those who have not seen the tank or its pictures think it is a war myth. This legendary tank however is the armoured vehicle of Special Forces assigned to hit the enemy from the side and the back during the Lapta battles on August 2nd 1974.
