Its first founders were: Sevket Kadir Ahmet Evrensel Hseyin Ruso Halil Sah Orhan Dervis Mehmet Arabac? and Ibrahim Nidai. The populace of Lapta began to migrate after the first chairman of the club ?evket Kadir who had continued his duties in that particular position up until 1963 was murdered as a result of the intercommunal strife together with his friend ?brahim Nidai while returning the Lapta from a job Girne. Two yellow lemons are the symbols on the Green and Reds emblem. The new structural programme of our club has been conceived with a modern vision. We aim to contribute to sport in the area and of our country by building our own club grounds. Our team were league leaders during the first half of the 20062007 season and pushed hard to hold onto their leadership but unfortunately completed the season in second position. Our team has begun playing in the new 20072008 football season under the chairmanship of Mustafa Aktu? with his newly formed administration. With a younger lineup the new season the team looks ready for battle on the pitch and promises to deliver hope for the future of the club. The first activity of the club directorship this season will be clean up the clubs land which has been neglected for years and convert it into an area that can be used as an open air bazaar and by doing so will be taking the first stepd in earning the club some income.
