Sukhumvit Street is one of the most reputed and longest commercial streets in Bangkok for its wide range of good items that satisfy any kind of desire of the people. It is an immense market with plenty of vendor stalls selling everything from luggage to fake Rolex watches and converts into pavement cafs and bars at midnight.

As these street vendors cover all the aspects of daily needs of the customers even a large variety of food items can also be found. The Aliens Are Here! The Aliens Are Here!

My fiance Paula and I used to be commercial motor vehicle drivers. Every week we would truck coast to coast.

When we did and when time dictated that we were able to we always made it a point to stop at the various places of interest along the way. Some were large and some were small. Some were interesting and some were not. Normally we really didn’t care whether it was a tourist trap or not. We saw it as an opportunity to get out of a moving vehicle and take a break from the rat race. We can honestly say that we never once regretted stopping at any of the attractions we have been to.

However we can say that some are better than others. We have stopped and seen places such as Little Big Horn and the Bonnie amp; Clyde death car. We have seen the place in Arizona on route 10 that houses The Thing which every twenty miles or so preceding it there had been a roadside billboard advertising see the THING and had enticed us so much that we just had to stop. As a matter of fact leading up to it every time we saw one of those billboards we would yell out THE THIIIIIINNNNNNNGGGGG! and it aided us with the boredom of the otherwise dull trip. Incidentally I won’t tell you what it is but I will tell you that it is in a quaint little walkthru museum that houses some very interesting items.

We have also seen Dorthy’s House in Liberal Kansas where they had filmed The Wizard Of Oz’s farm scenes and we have eaten at The Big Texan in Amarillo Texas which proudly boasts the seventytwo ounce steak. If you ask me it looks more like a roast and no I didn’t even attempt it. We did however eat rattlesnake and it did taste like chicken.

But of all the places and attractions we have seen I think that my absolute favorite was a little roadside shack in Baker California known as Alien Fresh Jerky. At this place they had alien figures everywhere. There were alien guards standing at the entrance door. There was the spaceship which they supposedly came here in lit up at the top of a pole. And there were even aliens positioned in a car as if they were just a family on vacation with the funniest part being the baby alien in the car seat. It was hilarious and a wonderful place to take photographs.

Therefore we added to our substantial photograph collection and it is those photographs that we are sharing with you. We hope you find them to be as humorous as we had.

So if you ever find yourself traveling around the United States and you happen to notice a sign for the Prehistoric Forest or the Cadillac Graveyard or even the Giant Ball of Twine don’t immediately discount it.

Like I said earlier some are good and some are bad. Look at it as a part of America that you have been given the opportunity to see and may never see again. At the very least see it as a way to stretch your legs and get away from the most of the time monotonous drive. Although it may add a little time to your trip you may enjoy yourself.
