Finding A Good Campground – 5 Simple Ways

Are you ready to go on a camping escapade? If so then you’re going to have to look for public campgrounds you care to visit. These campgrounds are also called campground parks.

Should this be your first time to enjoy a camping trip then you may thinking how you can find a campground to stay at. There are several ways to do this.

1. One way that you can find a campground will no doubt have many options for you to choose from. This involves looking in your local telephone book. With the phone book you will find the names of several campgrounds and their contact information. Not only would you find camps locally to do some camping at but you will get familiar with the surrounding campgrounds as well. It’s important to write down the ones you are interested in and what they charge if they do.

2. While the local phone book is a good utilization tool getting recommendations is a good idea. Camping is a very popular activity so there is a good chance a family member or some of your friends have been camping. If som they can give you places to choose from what they liked about it what they didn’t. They can tell you what kinds of activities were available and they may be able to give you all the contact information you need to get in touch with this campground.

3. If a local campground is not what you want how can you find out about campgrounds in other states? Use the Internet and do a search in one of the many search engines. By placing “campground parks” many hits will show up. You can modify the search if you know where you would like to go Usually city state or even zip code.

This booming technology is an awesome way to find campgrounds and get familiar with all they have to offer. They may even have pictures about their park posted on the website. This gives you an idea.

Somewhere on the website will be contact information such as location and phone number. Maybe even a fax number. A price list for the park’s campsites may even be on website.

4. One other way on the Internet is to look at online phone books or business directories. These allow you to find business directories in a particular area with their contact information also showing. These resources will allow you to find particular businesses by specific area.

5. By keeping your eyes open you can find a campground park to camp out at. Sometimes a great campground is discovered quite by accident. Should you be out driving keep a lookout for interesting park you would like to visit.

Many of these sites are seen in plain sight such as an advertisement on a billboard or highway sign. You can stop in and visit while requesting information. If you saw the information on the billboard call the number posted to get the information you need. You can also do an Internet search about the park in question when you reach your destination or home.

As you can see there are five different ways to find a campground to camp at. When you are camping you can also do many activities.

Word of advice: When you look for a campsite think about who all is going to be joining you and plan accordingly. Do you have kids who are only toddlers? Then make sure to stay away from lakes or rivers if need be. Take your time when searching for a place to relax at.

Family Camping 5 Ways To Get Great Deals On Camping Gear

Buying all the camping gear that you need to have for everyone in the family can get very expensive very quickly. If this is your first family camping trip then you probably don’t want to spend thousands of dollars on new high end camping equipment until you for sure that family camping trips are something that you’ll be doing more in the future.

1. Borrow it

Do you have friends that go camping with their kids? Or do you family that have gone camping in the past or maybe you have some friends that are outdoor enthusiasts? 2. Rent it

Chances are pretty good that you will find some great gear that has only been used once that was purchased by other family campers who decided camping wasn’t for them. You should probably not buy used sleeping bags but other second hand equipment could save you lots money. You can also take your chances at garage sales and yard sales.

4. Equipment swaps

Do your kids play sports and have a lot of old sports gear? Look for local sports equipment swaps to see if you can trade your kids’ old outgrown gear for some family camping gear. Many times local community sports leagues sporting teams Boy Scout and Girl Scout groups and other community groups will hold equipment swaps. Check with your local parks department to find equipment swaps in your area.

5. Look online

Scour sites like Craigslist or Freecycle to find free or low cost camping equipment that is still in good condition. Sometimes you can get amazing deals on equipment that is practically new when you look on the Internet.

With a little bit of effort you can potentially save a great deal of money on camping gear so that you and your family can have a great time without worrying about the expenses.
